Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

Yes, carbon steerers require the use of an expander plug and must not be used with a regular starnut. FSA makes a readily available expander if one didn't come with your fork.
