I have an 07 Trek Top Fuel 9.9 It is full carbon everything. I got lured into buying it as I got it about 65% off and the XTR parts were worth more than I paid for it. That being said, I have already been through one frame which Trek replaced without any issues. So I have a brand new bike, but I suspect I will probably crack the frame again. I ride just straight single track, fire roads, no drops, extremes, etc. So I for one would recommend an aluminum bike over carbon. If I break it again, I will try to get Trek to provide me a new aluminum frame instead.
