I have a 1999 Master Extra Light. I went in a different direction than some of these ideas. I have a nice mix of 9 sd. Dura Ace and Ultegra components on the bike. I use Dura Ace hubs, DT 14 ga. spokes, and Mavic Open Pro rims. I also have a set of Velocity Aeroheads, DT 14 ga. spokes, and Ultegra hubs. Not much of a difference on club rides, or longer day trips. I use Gator Skins and 4000s tires exclusively and I have had great luck with both, although I stick to the Gator Skins for late fall and early spring riding. For bars try Nitto Noodles. Really nice all day comfort. For all around use, I've been plenty satisfied with Shimano 600 headsets. When you get to the final details, consider a white Selle San Marco Regal and white bar tape. A riding buddy just finished his red Master the same way and it is drop dead gorgeous. I wish the paint was half as nice on mine. Congrats on your purchase.
