That is fascinating, even surprising; it would never have occurred to me to use the high gears so much. When on my commuter bikes (with Nexus 8 and Sturmey Archer 8 hubs) I always shift to 1st gear (around 28 gear inches) every time I stop, upshifting when my cadence reaches 110 - 120 rpm, so I don't usually get above 6th gear or so. If I had my Rohloff geared like yours, I would mostly use gears 4-8, and reach gear 11 rather rarely. I guess I have to gear mine quite a bit lower, then?
