Like all manufacturers- You either like them or you don't. I like Giant.

The first bike you get is Immaterial really- but £600 is a sensible starter price. You are not going to get top knotch but it will be fine for a starter bike. The higher price you pay will get a better groupset and better wheels. But The first bike is only to tell you what you should have bought in the first place.

something to look at at in this price range- Cut it to $500 to allow for helmet- gloves- shorts and puncture repair kit and pump to carry on the bike. But you will get a Sora Or Tiagra group set. My OCR had Sora- the lowest recommended- and it works and still works. The wheels I did change but the good wheels are now on my lastest bike as they are interchangable.

Visit that Evans Site as with 10% off their listed prices- there are some good bargains to be had. If it is only bikes- then go for the cheapest supplier of that bike. And if you want "MY" opinion of a bike- then PM me on your choices.
