That looks almost exactly like my Mt St. Helens minus the color. Except of course, mine has the most garish stem ever made and yours has a black one (same headset with gaskets and everything, except I don't trust it and added an outer "seal" as well)! With the crankset and paint job on the Hood, it must have been a step above the Helens. I have been trying to peg a date to it, so I guess I'll call mine an 85 too, then. I thought it was an 85 or 86
Cool St. Helens! The chrome frame of my 'hood is kind of hazy in places, but brilliant in others. It looks like it was half assed prepped for the spray paint job. I would say yours is as you suspect...an 85ish model.
