My take on the classics. Essentially any one day race that was on the old Super Prestige Pernod competition was considered a classic. Note Paris-Brussels got kicked off the Super Prestige at one stage due to poor organisation and lost huge amounts of prestige.

Monuments

Milan-San Remo
Tour of Flanders
Paris-Roubaix
Liege-Bastogne-Liege
Tour of Lombardy.

Classics

Paris-Tours
Amstel Gold
Fleche Wallonne
Gent-Wevelgem

Arguably Classics*, were Classics but have lost prestige**, defunct***

San Sebastian*
Paris-Brussels**
GP Suisse/Championship of Zurich**, ***?
Henninger Turm/GP of Frankfurt**, *** (who knows what the Germans are doing?)
Het Volk/Het Nueiwsblad (sp?) *
Bourdeax-Paris ***

Special mention
Vattenfal Classic/Hamburg Protour race. Not a classic. I don't care what anyone says.
