Hi tina tina, if you have no clue about stuff like this it might not be the best idea to build your bike yourself. aluminium bootom brackets are extermly vunerabel. on the other hand, its really not that hard. screw the bb in from the drive side to about 30 Nm, then screw the non drive side cup on as far as it will go. not to hard (again about 30-45 Nm), youll strip the threads. and use lots of grease, you can never you too much grease on an alu frame. it also really important that all the threads are clean, which shouldnt be a problem as all the stuff is new. oh, to answer your initial question, its perfectly normal for the non drive side cup to stick out like this. have fun with your bike
