Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

I've done that also. Talk about feeling sheepish! You were lucky that it was a Wippermann so you could take it apart with the Conex link. If it had been a Shimano and joined with the special pin you would have needed a chain tool to correct it.
