Wilier Cento 1 - sizing

I'm 5'7" and my current bikes are Pedal Force ZX3 08 (size 53; 535mm effective top tube) and Specialized Roubaix (size 52; 537mm effective top tube). I run a 100mm stem on both bikes and fit is fine. Both bikes share the same headtube length of 145mm, which I now find to be a bit too tall. Both bikes are sized as "small".

The Wilier Cento 1's small has an effective top tube of 524mm and a headtube length of 115mm. Somehow the top tube seems a bit short for a small sized bike compared to Specialized or Pedal Force. Next size up, a medium, has an effective top tube of 538mm and a headtube length of 145mm. The medium seems to have a similar geometry to the Specialized Roubaix small.

Given that I am interested in a bike with a shorter headtube height, would a Cento 1 small work if I compensate with a longer stem (110mm to give a total reach of 634, which is 1mm shorter compared to the ZX3 or 3mm shorter compared to the Roubaix. I would imagine the lower handlebar stack height might effectively increase the reach somewhat). Any ideas??? cheers.

by the way, I have considered the Tarmac S-Works SL2 and Giant TCR Advanced SL however the small sized framesets aren't in stock (the New Zealand distributors are out of stock and I'll have to wait until the next shipment, whenever that might be).

lastly, anyone here rides a Cento 1? care to share some thoughts about this bike?
