I'd say to stick with the schedule. Try to do your scheduled rides, but listen to your body. If you cut the volume down or ratchet down the intensity, no big deal. If you hit your rest week now, and come out of it earlier, you're compressing your schedule, but for the wrong reasons (when you don't feel well, moving your targets closer is a bad thing).
Excellent observation. I never considered my macro schedule.
