Update. I got black cleats from Bangalore, India. In fact the red was not available. Finally, I got a pair of shoes from Evans cycles, UK.
I rode this morning in the new cleats. The convenience of not having to use my hands the way toe clips would require is a definite advantage. Pedalling was easy with feet firmly gripped. I had stopped using cleats with my toe clips because of the traffic. Today I rode 60 km and on the way back traffic was close to killing. But I felt no discomfort or fear in my clipless pedals.
So, thank you everyone for helping out in this change in my cycling.
