A friend of mine from work wanted to get into road riding, so we found him this one on ebay

Not bad for his first road bike. Its a Trek 'Pro Series' 560 with Reynolds 531 tubing and Shimano 600. I believe it to be an '87 (or there abouts) and is mostly all original. The seller packed it pretty good but it was almost all apart, so I built it back up with the included parts and added a little more from my own stash. The bike has a lot of superficial scrapes and some surface rust but is otherwise in good condition for its age with a strong, straight frame and fork. Its all lugged steel and I think he got a good deal, considering its a Reynolds frame with the proven Shimano 600 stuff.
After overhauling everything (well almost everything) and installing an old Mavic 'Open 4 CD' front wheel I had laying around and some other stuff, we took it for a 13 mile spin while I rode my Centurian. The bike is quiet and fast, and he loves it, so I guess I've done my work.
Too bad its a size 60 or I'd be trading him out for it.
