Does anyone know what's next? How does the whole rabies check thing go down?
Sorry you got bit. I enjoy touring and have encountered many rural (and urban) aggressive dogs. Most can be outrun, but the occasional dog does get awfully fast.

As for the drill for a dog bite, you did well by washing the wound out. That is the logical and most effective first step. There is a very good article in the American Family Physician about the next steps.

Good luck and I hope your bite does well.
