When I started to ride again, about 15 years ago, I found my 1970's B17-N did not fit anymore. I had no pride and would take a wash cloth and neatly fold it making a nice little pad to rest between me and the saddle. I got pretty good at keeping it in place. The improvised pad even stayed on the seat when I got out of the saddle on hills or stops. Now days the acutely developed pride and stubbornness would have me riding on a oak 2" x 4" and believing it will break in any day soon.
