Seeing as you know so little about bicycles and seem to have 'your' classic bicycle's best interests at heart, why don't you see if you can find a local enthusiast and gift it to them ?

That way the bicycle would have the best survival chances (as they seem slim atm) and someone else could also enjoy/benefit from the generosity shown to you.

You could state where you are and ask if anyone on the forum would like this classic bicycle on the understanding that as a gift they cherish and restore it and promised not to try to make a quick buck on it ?
