There are a ton of factors that go into this, what kind of riding do you plan on doing, what are you looking for in a bike, etc. Know what you want to do with a bike and then find the bike ideal for that, being FS is not for experts or beginners, if you are looking to get as good as you can than a hardtail is a good place to start, if your just looking to ride, it depends on what your looking for in a bike bot either could be a good candidate for you.
