An important point is that the hole when I discovered it after taking off the tire was only the size of a pen head. It wasn't until I pushed on it that it became as big as it is in the picture. It wasn't there when I originally glued the tire, that's what has me worried a little. I agree it's in an area that probably doen't see much stress, but generally speaking I'm not thrilled about the new hole
