I am also 5' 10." Weirdly, of my two remaining bikes, my late-80's Schwinn Prologue (Tange Prestige) is a 58, my 2006 Madone SL is a 54. They have almost the exact same top tube length, which says something about how frame sizing varies over time and between manufacturers.
