The load is way out from the mounting point and must be exerting horrible strain on the clamp that holds it all to the seat post. Empty - maybe, but fill those bags with gear and it is inviting collapse. Could be that there is some kind of vertical support out of sight to the rear frame as in a traditional luggage rack. I can't see and don't know how the mini is fixed for rear rack mounting points.
I have a similar arrangement on my DT mini - posted a pic somewhere. THe reality is for me it is Ok for bulky but not too heavy stuff. If you put loads of say, beer and wine in holders on the rack, it swivels, and keeping the front wheel on the road is an issue. I don't have a rear rack mounting point, don't think Sammyb has either.

Sammy: when are you going to get them helmets in stock, btw?
