I guess I need to find some better dumpsters!
I came across a 'Pacific Deuce' aluminum frame mountain bike. Didn't look bad from 20' away. Once I got it into my shop it weren't purdy. This thing had a hard life. No matter what I did to the front tube and tire the tube pushes the tire past the rim, both derailers were roached. Chain shot. All the bearings were dry. Front forks (compression type) are crapped out. Back wheel has serious curb impact damage. I pulled the front derailer, all the derailer cables and grip shifters off and changed out the wheels/tires with some other cheap ones I had, regreased everything. I have the back derailer wired for the middle cog. The chain set on the middle crank sprocket. (The axles and cranks are heavy built) Regreased everything. The crankset rides kinda pigeon-toed. Once I finish it will be a gift to a kid up the street.
