Personally, I enjoy riding in our cold weather. The main arteries are almost always cleared, and if pavement isn't showing on the roads it's hard packed snow which is just as good.
Also, the air is usually dry and crisp; you don't have to worry about rain and slush. I'd rather be out when the temperature is -35C than -5 when passing cars splash road grime on me. When I get home, my bike is still clean, my cheeks are rosy, and I have a smile on my face

(And judging by the ever growing winter biking population here, I'm not the only one).
