Here's what I get:
Winnipeg's summer weather lasts three months, not "six or seven."
Summer "anywhere in the world" is not necessarily three months, nor is it even necessarily a recognized concept. We in the temperate zone have these nifty dates on the calendar for the changing of the seasons, but in tropical and subtropical regions there are generally two seasons: dry and rainy. Go to Singapore and declare "it's summer!" on June 21st and see how people react.
Even better, invite someone from Spain or Thailand or Brazil or Tuvalu to Winnipeg in April and tell him or her that it's summer. Should be good for a laugh.
