Actually, last night I ended up at this party where there were a bunch of blacked-out track bikes locked up out front. I'm enjoying a beer and a cigarette outside and see these kids (man, they couldn't have been older than 18) come out, so drunk they're barely able to walk, dressed all in black grab their track bikes and leave. I was kind of shocked that someone would get on a brakeless bike in "night camo", no helmet, no lights, drunk.
With that in mind, I see where the OP's coming from and agree. But his posting here assumes that all people riding fixed gears are irresponsible, selfish twerps. Which, despite what I saw last night, is mostly not true.
