If the Trek felt like it was faster then it probably was - which means that with the Giant you will probably have to work harder to attain the same speed. I don't know if that is true or not it is simply the way I see it. Therefore the Giant might offer you a harder workout (not necessarily a better workout).
I bought a 7.3 last year for my commute (was looking at the 7.2) and do not regret my choice and spending the extra money. The bike is fast for my commute and I enjoy it for weekend rides also. My commute is 12 miles round trip and weekend rides can be a bit longer. I'm looking to change handlebars as they aren't the most comfortable around.
What exactly is making the Giant a more comfortable bike to ride?
