I answered the phone during a race last year. Of course I was 20 minutes behind the group at that point because of a climb (not my forte) and a flat (after the wheel truck had long since passed). I was sitting up enjoying the countryside and my LBS rang. I answered and they asked why I wasn't racing....I told them I was...i'm just that bad a**.
