based on what? I have both, the 3 series that came with my kilo TT Pro which is the kit on sale from bikeisland, and the 7 series on my Road bike and they do the same job just as efficiently and safely. Brakes differ in weights and if they come with replaceable pad cartridges, at least with tektro it does. 105 brakes don't clamp any better than the tektros either, they just come with better brake pads.

Any Tektro brake + Kool-stop pads=Better braking than any high end shimano counterpart.
