Being a college kid that works in a bike shop and rides quite a bit, i have had the opportunity to meet a TON of people that are just great people to know..i.e my dentist, physical therapist, lawyer, etc etc.
it has also opened up a lot of conversation in my academic career, job interviews and all sorts of other things. its a really powerful social tool i think
This comes up a bit, and i agree...but this could be said about a lot of hobbies.
