i'd wager a guess that it's still less expensive in terms of time/money compared to getting a new frame built custom with s&s couplers, which would still fit all of your other bike parts, and then rebuilding the bike onto that new frame... even if not, if you're choosey about parts, you wouldn't want to 'divorce' your existing frame unless absolutely necessary.
oh if only some bike manufacturers would sell empty frames with s&s couplers already fitted onto them... we wouldn't even be having this discussion about hiring an s&s certified framebuilder vs. retrofitting.
