I just use a couple squirts of WD40 as a solvent on the cluster and chain. Wrap rag around the chain and hold it as you spin backwards for a couple turns of the crank. Then I slip the rag in between the cogs and do a back & forth dental-floss motion as it spins the cogs one-way for a couple of revs.
