You have to try that 22% grade (it's short) on a fixed mtb rocking 74 gear inches... one could walk faster.

But that was yesterday...

I rode 20 km today which was a big feat for a guy who hasn't ridden more than 10 km in two and a half months and since it is snowing, wet, windy, and cold I took the hybrid which rocks an mtb triple with a 24/32/42 and an 11-30 cassette and fenders.

The worst grade was a short 12% over a few hundred feet and I did manage to stay out of the granny for that and stayed in the middle ring all the way home.

It beats the couch.
