ok, I think I figured it out.

method 1: use a minoura space/swing grip so you get a horizontal bar to use a regular mount to it.


method 2: use a rubber O-ring instead of a hairband, obviously, brown band to illustrate where it goes. might need a spacer or two to get the angle right since saddle bags compress. Depends on how your saddle bag is constructed too, so make sure the O-ring is inside the Velcro loops.

you can also cut off one side of a DX 12000 mount to thread it into the velcro loop your saddle bag has.

or instead of using spacers, chop a DX 12000 in half and use that to give some proper cradled support to your light so it won't slide around badly.
