They shouldn't have too much of a problem with telling you how to do it if they are worth their salt.

There is an story about an old bikeshop owner here in Denver. With every bicycle he sold - especially kids' bikes - he gave away a rather expensive compact toolset. It included wenchs, tire levers and spoke wenches. One of his customers asked him how he could afford to give away such an expensive item with every bike. He said, "For every one of those tool sets I give away I make more than enough money on fixing the 'repairs' those kids make! Especially retruing the wheels!"
