Regular hiking shoes should have more rigid soles. I used sneakers on my platform pedals and found the move to hiking shoes much easier on the soles.
Good point I have lots of hiking shoes. I'll give em a try on thursday when I will Finally ride my bike to work. I'm stoked I'll be trying out the new panniers and some different shoes.
