Bought the ...err... "ball bag" at Walmart along with the "super-comfy looking saddle". I am setting up a free Craigslist bike (80s vintage Free Spirit) for my wife as a bike path cruiser and thought it would upgrade the look a little bit. My wife rode down to Walgreens to do some shopping, came back and declared the seat to be not so "super-comfy". Returned both items to Walmart.

Still looking for a good seat for my wife.

She hasn't biked since she was a kid. We got a bike trailer for our 18-month old son (cheap Craigslist find) and are getting the rest of the gear together for some family rides this summer. I have visions of all-day excursions, but that may be unrealistic.

She is drawn to the uber-cushioned, gel-filled donuts. I'm trying to convince her that she wants something a bit smaller. Any advice on inexpensive seat for her? She is approx 170 lbs and 5' 8''.
