Front or rear? If rear, I'm gonna say no (and I suspect front is the same) -- the axle looks like this:


The cartridge bearings are a loose press fit on the shiny parts marked 10 mm + butt up against the "shoulder", with locknuts holding everything in place.. I doubt you can find a hollow axle with the same specs. Maybe find a friend with a drill press + a very sharp bit?
