I test rode an '08 Trek Soho this afternoon because I wanted a bike to get around with. I'm coming off TT bikes so i'm not sure what's good or not in the commuter world, but anyway I love this bike. The geometry was incredibly comfortable and the disc brakes rock. Internal shifting was pretty decent and the simplicity of it all was fantastic.
Unfortunately i was turned off by the price. I've tried checking my local craigslist and eBay for some used ones, but no luck. I know the '09's are coming out with the belt drive, but I still believe in the chain so I want to stick with last years model.
I somehow can't post in the want it section of this forum so maybe you guys can help me out. Where can i get one of these used or cheaper? I've usually bought my bikes frame up so i'm not sure how LBS will feel with haggling prices and all. MSRP is like $900+. Can i just get it cheaper if I rolled in with a sack of cash?
