I've got something like this (not the same brand) for duck hunting, and it works great. Full balaclava in the morning when it's freezing cold, then change it up to suit my needs as it gets warmer.
the one I have is fleece and half thin material, so the fleece can protect your neck and the thinner stuff can fit under a hat (or a helmet I suppose).
