Because you enjoy the feel of them and the confidence it gives you in shifting as well as braking. Especially when you're mashing up a hill trying to change gears... 105 shifts under a heavy load. Well, Ultegra does that to an even greater extent. And that's why I ride SRAM Red.

Tiagra works great.... my wife has many miles logged on her Dolce Elite with Tiagra. Works great and barely needs adjusting. I told her she should get Sora though since she wasn't racing or anything.
