Had this old and scruffy Galaxy for a good while.
Finally decided to deal with it.

Painted it and decided that straight bars and a couple of racks would make a useful lightweight but sturdy town bike/heavy carrier.

Here is the result.
Not quite finished because I wanted a 3 speed, but 26" wheels look stupid so I fitted a pair of good quality Campy hubs/Rigida rims with 5 speed today and took it out for a ride.
The chain came off while I was out (but it was a 1/8th chain fixed as a SS and the clip was iffy!!)
But I still took some photos. See here:



Got a period 50s paint style, but I think it suits....



Needs, and will get, a Dawes decal on the seat-tube panel. Plus guards, a couple of racks and new chain
I like the red outers and the paint style suits it IMHO.
Opinions?
