How many of them weren't affiliated with a large self contained military base which I assume you were associated with. Did you own any of the residences?

I was going to add military bases but didn't because I thought the fact that most military don't have too many choices about their residence location there was no sense pointing out to this crowd that those who live on or near a military base and work and shop there too would be another prime spot for car free living.

My experience with the military in Germany though is that few military members took advantage of that opportunity.
