I love my new Randonee. And I love my year-old Ortlieb Backpacker plus panniers. However, I can't figure out how to use my panniers on the Randonee rack. I can fasten the top clips ok, but I can't find any position or orientation where the bottom hook can grab any part of the rack. It looks like I should be able to move the hook to the top part of the oval (see picture) but the little screw in the track holding the hook is blocked from moving to the top part of the oval. Before I start dismantling the pannier (the screws holding the track and hook have locknuts on the other ends deep inside the lining of the pannier) is there something I'm missing? Is anyone using this combination of rack & pannier?
