Yeah, I see what I guess must be a proportional number of African-American roadies on the usual bike routes around NYC.

What I don't see are very many mixed-race cycling groups.

99% of the black cyclists I see on the road are riding in exclusively black groups. And of course, the same can be said for the white cyclists around here. If anything, the NYC roadie community seems more segregated than any other subculture around town. I guess it doesn't surprise me, but it still strikes me as sad.
