remove the spindle you have and fit the crankset on it, both arms the same direction. Measure the tread/q factor (outside to outside at pedal threads). You probably want about 143mm (~140mm tightened). Subtract 143mm from what you have now and add that to the 110mm. Get back to us with the results.
Also visually check to see that you have room from the end of the spindle to the tightening face of the crankarms to be able to tighten by 1.5mm. You don't want to bottom out. Sounds like you might be putting a JIS crank onto an ISO (or old Campy-style) spindle.
