handelbar stem size
I have several older handlebar stems, mostly, I think from road bikes. Also from mixte and low-end bikes. They have different numbers indicating something. And, some fit some forks/headsets interchangebly.
I can't figure what the different numbers mean. Some are 22.2, some are 85 or 87, some are 80 and 5355, some are .8333. Does anyone have a chart showing all these numbers and what they apply to? Sheldon's explains some of these stem numbers, but not all. They are all alloy and reasonably decent parts. I guess I would just like to know these sizes better.
