Social Etiquette for an in-race Crash
So, I was racing last night at a weekly series which is non-USAC sanctioned but money there's on the line.
About 3/4 way in, there's a crash on the left side of the mid-pack. About two seconds prior to that, I'm leading out a group of about 4-5 riders on a break attempt on the right side, when we hear the crash. I continue to motor and look back to see a little bit of carnage (3-4 riders down) but also to see that everyone has slowed way down and is allowing the pack to regroup.
Back in my 20's when I was racing, that would have never happened. You'd have heard the crash and pretty much the hammer would have dropped for the survivors or some group or another would have attacked.
Have the unspoken rules changed? Or maybe its just regional, as I was racing in another part of the country back then.
