OK, have some pixs. As you can see, the large blocky font word on the downtube is SCHWINN, but what comes next? Looks like 8 to 10 more smaller letters extending well beyond the cable clamp. There is also something else on the seat tube. Any clue what model name???
Serial number begins with CV(then 6 digits), and on the headbadge is stamped 1314. I think CV = March 1984, and the rear hub is also stamped '84 so it all looks right. The suicide levers are missing from the DiaCompe levers, but otherwise it looks to be original and intact. Small flange hub up front with a Schwinn tire.
Drive train is FFS/PPS equipped with ashtabula cranks.
The rear derailleur cable is a solid push-pull type, sort of like the throttle cable on a small engine. I believe that it is correct, being necessary for the 'predictive' shift system. It is a pretty neat and unique rear derailleur design, but the cable housing is all rusty and rotted. Any suggestions on where to find a suitable replacement?
