I taper to a point that TSB would go from +X to about a TSB of +1/+2 the day after the race.
For instance, if I would do a full taper for the first race of this weekend. Starting yesterday I would start a steady TSB increase.

I expect Saturday's race to be 170-180 TSS (warm up, race and cool down). Last year it was 182. 182 TSS would put me at -0.10 TSB on Sunday morning.
I'm not making Saturday a priority though, so my TSB will only come up to +2-3. The greater the taper, the more the CTL drops, and I'm more concerned about carrying training load through to the end of the month.
