Who has lost a lot of weight and got faster up climbs?
I have gone up and down in weight. Long story short got into cycling - lost weight. ITband injury - off the bike gained some weight back. Wife had a baby - gain more weight back. Now I am getting my fitness back and am close to my weight before the ITband injury. Went from 235 to 180 back to 220 and am sitting today at 189. Over all I am a pretty solid rider and can hold my own on flats and false flats even small climbs. Hills are getting better but 189 is still 30lbs heavier than most good climbers and i still struggle on steeper grades and usually get separated from the group. Realistically I think I can get down to 170-175 and am building a good base this season.
This question is there anyone else that has had a big weight loss and was getting dropped on climbs and went to pulling through?
