I know it sucks now, but your training wasn't in vain- now you know more about how you respond to training and you know you can handle the load. So when you come back to riding, it'll be easier.... you did it before, you can do it again.

You will also have some fear issues about descending to work out. Don't be concerned, it's normal. I had the same problem with pack riding after my last crash. When you are ready I suggest finding a nice traffic-free downhill, riding it once to check for debris, and then practicing gradually upping your speed on it. Maybe a couple times a month.

How is your wife taking things now? Mine was concerned initially but didn't ask that I stop riding (probably because she can see how good it is for me, and knew that I'd do it anyhow).
